Kolby is the founder, owner and director of Aloha State Volleyball Club. He has been the head coach of the Girls 18 Black, 17 Black, 13 Black and 14 Black teams in the last 3 years. He also served as an assistant for the boys 16’s team in 2019. In just three years of existence, Aloha State has successfully become one of the top-tier clubs in Hawai’i.

Kolby is a graduate of Moanalua High School and was an 3x AVCA All-American libero at the University of Hawaii from 2013 – 2016 where he graduated with a degree in Kinesiology. He is currently the women’s volleyball Assistant Coach at Chaminade University in Honolulu, Hawai’i. From 2018-2020 he served as the head Girls Varsity Coach and Program Director at University Laboratory School in Manoa. Before moving back to Hawaii, Kolby enjoyed stints coaching at the college level at University of California, Berkeley (2016) and the University of San Francisco (2017.) He has a wealth of experience in the youth level coaching at Slainte Volleyball Club, Pacific Rim Volleyball Academy and Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory in Northern California as well as A’oa Koa Volleyball Club, Outrigger Canoe Club, Hawaii Elite Volleyball Club and Moanalua High School.
