Toni Nishida returns to Aloha State Volleyball Club for her second consecutive season, as the she moves up age divisions as Assistant Coach for the 14s team.

Toni Nishida — a former University of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine, competed as an Middle Blocker for the 1987 Rainbow Wahine volleyball team. The Wahine earned their 4th National Championship that year under Dave Shoji.

Toni has coached for ASICS Volleyball Club under director Dave Shoji from 1990-1992. From 2005 – 2012, she coached for Maunalani Volleyball Club where she landed on a Silver Medal in the Open Division both her 12s and 13s years. Toni then moved up with the same team all the way up to 18s – securing top 5 finishes in Open. From 2017 – 2018, Toni coached for Rainbows Volleyball Club.

Toni Nishida shifted gears in the High School Volleyball Community as she was the Girls JV coach for La Pietra in 1993. In 1994 – 1999, Toni was the Kaimuki Girls Varsity Coach, placing 4th in State and runner-up in OIA. From 2000 – 2010 Toni was the Maryknoll Program Coordinator and the Girls Varsity coach. Lastly, from 2013 – 2017 Toni led the Maryknoll Boys and girls CSAL and Intermediate teams.
